89oldscutlass
I have seen a bunch of threads on here about the supercharged 3800s, I like them but I also read a thread on here about turbo charging a 3800 but I cant find it on here for reference. Any ways I might be already beating a dead horse but here it goes. Have any of you guys thought about using the perfomance parts or stock parts for a 3.8 Grand National to turbo charge a plain 3800 series 2 using the low compression pistons from the Grand National and the turbo for one. Both are 231 v6s and the internals of the engines should be interchangable. As far as the heads I dont have a clue. I know one of the big issues would be the manifold just to name one. mihela816
The GN is RWD, so the turbo setup wouldn't just bolt up. The heads are way different, they moved the cylinders, and the exhaust manifollds wouldn't bolt up. The intercooler wouldn't fit.
midnight rider
you'd be looking at a lot of work to do it. It would be a cool swap though.
mfewtrail
Turbocharged 3800 = has been done quite a few times now on Series II 3800's with GREAT results(low 12's on a basically stock car + turbo kit)..roll on over to clubgp and do some searches on the forum or browse the "L36 powered cars" section or whatever it's titled.
