digitaloutsider Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 I have a couple of questions about this. First, what parts are required to do the top end swap, and what performance increase can be expected (HP estiamate) Quote
Canada Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 I don't think anyone has dynoed the difference........or even track tested a direct comparison. Some people have done it, but with other mods.....so who knows what the real gains where. Personally, beings that the 3400 swap is so cheap and fairly straight forward to do, I say opt for the entire motor. However, if you still wish to do a 3400 top end swap, you need the entire 3400 top end.....heads and all. Quote
DiscoStudd Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 If you swap in a complete 3400 in place of a 3.1, don't you need a custom chip burned for the 3.1's ECM? Just curious... Quote

Canada Posted August 22, 2004 Report Posted August 22, 2004 If you care enough about performance...........you'll have the Ben/Sappy/660/FFP chip anyways. I'm pretty sure he has one already programed to operate the 3400. Quote
