White93z34
if you want to supercharge a n/a 3800, you have 2 options beef up your stock bottom end or just uy the whole s/c 3800 (L67) what i'm gettin at is if you have your heart set on a gtp get a gtp
mfewtrail
Keep the L36(superchargerless 3800 series II engine) and turbocharge it(or add a CSC supercharger), they make kits now..search clubgp a bit(the L36 section of the forum should have lots of recent turbo topics). After all, the turbo kits + L36 engines are putting out some awesome #'s. 8)
EurosportZ34
Why do you have your heart set on a '97 GTP? That's the first year and is prone to the most problems. :? Get a '98 or later, they would be just as cheap as a '97 if that's what your looking for. Yeah and don't get the GT if you really want a GTP...that's just stupid. You'll kick yourself in the ass all the time...trust me.
DiscoStudd
Here's a guy that supercharged his L36 powered Impala: http://www.lynoise.com/ You could always check out http://www.l67swap.com Here's another site to check out http://www.zzperformance.com/ I agree that you should stay away from the 97's. Get a 99 or 2000 model year. From what I've heard, those were the 2 best years for the GP...
sl3196
99 or 00 is what I would pick. But if you get a good deal on a 97 or 98 go for it. 97-98 are cheaper on insurance because they are listed as a gt not gtp. Keep looking for a gtp! Daves1995GTP
Whatever you decide to do I wouldn't settle for the GT if you want a GTP. I've always loved the looks of the 93-96 style Grand Prix but I didn't like the interior of the pre 94's. And I wanted a GTP with everything but leather. I had to put 500 miles on a rental car looking for it but I'm not thinking why didn't I look for a GTP.

Canada
I agree on the turbo L36...........just to see if you can get an L36 quicker for less dollars than a L67.
Daves1995GTP
I've always loved the looks of the 93-96 style Grand Prix but I didn't like the interior of the pre 94's. :? Sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone, the pre 94 interiors aren't bad, I just prefer the newer ones. I like the DIC's a lot though.

Keep your prejudices towards the older dashes on the D/L You gots to learn not to dis the older W's dashes or praise the "generic" newer ones around here! Trust me, I learned the hard way!!! Us "newer" gen 1 owners are outnumbered on here, so we've gotta quit making waves with the majority! ... Sorry guys, just trying to make the newbie understand the rules around here!
