93CutlassSupreme
i picked up some front slotted rotors from napa, because, once again, my front end and brake pedal were vibrating under braking. slapped them on sunday, and they totally suck. the front end doesn't shake anymore, but the brake pedal still does. is this because the rotors are slotted and they grip the pads better or something? if this is how they are, i'm just gonna throw some regular ones back on. btw, fuck first gen w brakes

White93z34
i changed my rear brakes about 12k ago and that was only due to a caliper that went bad and ate a rotor, otherwise the rear pads and rotors would still be on from when i bought it, i mean my front brakes are great still. and my rears are still practically brand new
93CutlassSupreme
i know a first gen w won't stop on a dime, i don't expect it too. i just want my stops to be smooth, no squealing or grinding, and no front end vibration or brake pedal puslation. i guess that isn't possible with my car. White93z34
if its possable with mine its possable with yours sugestions... hmm seriously analise your driveing habits see what you could be doing that is causeing abnormal wear on the rotors? as for rotors/pads high grade raybestos is generally the way to go

94CutlassSLCoupe
I'm surprised you're having trouble...I remember my '88 had the same rotors on it when it was junked @ 197k as it did when I bought it at 157k...and they were VERY used before that. Brake pads on the otherhand didn't last more than 20k
93CutlassSupreme
one of my coworkers used to own a early 90's Euro, he did his brakes every 3 months. that's almost as often as me.
THe_DeTAiL3R
I haven't changed my pads or rotors on my 88 since I've had it.. about 4 years and 40,000km worth.. It stops like shit and the rotors started pulsating this year, but they'll do until I get the 95 on the road.
93CutlassSupreme
yeah, they do stop like shit i've came very close a few times to smashing into the rear of other cars, because my brakes have just 'given up' and don't feel like stopping the car if only first gen brakes were as reliable as the trusty 3.1 multiport
