GP1138 Posted December 23, 2012 Report Posted December 23, 2012 Good jebus that was a terrible vintage thread to dredge up. Quote

Crazy K Posted December 23, 2012 Report Posted December 23, 2012 someone should do a compnine research... It was found that one single 1994 W-body has a transmission besided a 4t60e, it turns out it was a 3t40... not checked, but probably a prototype there were 1997 LQ1 luminas, but they were prototypes there were TWO TSTE that weren't maroon or red, also prototypes. there were also 21(iirc, I'd have to double check) 1995 CSs that had HUD, but all were prototypes. rare oddities can exist.... some are not what they seem. virtuetovice Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 Oh god I remember my 2.2 powered Cav. I kid you not it got beat by a moped up to about 30mph. Quote
RobertISaar Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 the only 2.2 vehicle i've driven was a 95 cavalier.... that was running on 2 cylinders(dead coil pack). got ~10MPG and was faster walking. Quote
virtuetovice Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 Toward the end, mine was running on an unknown number of cylinders with a popped head gasket. Quite possibly the slowest, smokiest thing on the road. It was like James bond meets Beverly hillbillies. Quote
alec_b Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 Ah yes, the 2.2 Cav. I had a '94 coupe, 3 speed auto. Kind of sad that going up a MINOR grade the thing could barely maintain speed. Quote
Luke94vert Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 I can say with 100% certainty that there were 97 lumina ltz with lq1. I owned one for about 6 months about 6-7 years ago. Sure was a fun car. Borrowed it to my sister one night and she wrapped it around a couple of trees driving home from the bar. But yes they did exist. If someone can send me a vin from a 93 lumina I will do a compnine and see what all comes up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
RobertISaar Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 if any 93 VIN will do.... Z34: 2G1WP14X2P9108485 3.1 sedan: 2G1WL54T2P9233633 Quote

Luke94vert Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 according to compnine, in 1993 Sedans 1 - 2.2 LN2 196,864 - 3.1 LHO 3489 - 3.4 LQ1 Coupes 0 - 2.2 LN2 - not even an option 17,593 - 3.1 LH0 12,323 - 3.4 LQ1 So finding 2.2 93 lumina would be a true rare find. Quote

emptytank Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 well i haven't seen a 2.2 lumina but i put a 2.0 into a 96 gp, i wouldn't call it fast but it was faster than say a cavalier or beretta with 2.2. just like my 2.5 lumina beat the 2.5 cierra Quote
tar6569 Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 There was a 2.2 92 or 93 lumina 4dr on iaai a few months ago. I remember my brother went to the listing for it because he didn't recognize the engine letter in the vin (when scrolling through the luminas) and sure enough it was a 2.2 Take another look, it could still be on there. Who knows. Quote
