GM Keyless Entry Module 1989-??

The keyless entry module consists of two circuit boards connected by a 5-wire copper flex cable. A pair of open-frame relays are on the main circuit board. An SPST relay energizes the trunk release solenoid, and a SPDT relay controls door locking. The relays are controlled by the 6805 MCU (Micro Computer Unit) via a ULQ2001A darlington power controller.

The 6805 is a single-chip 8-bit microcomputer unit which contains a CPU, on-chip CLOCK, ROM, RAM, I/O, and TIMER. It uses the 6800-instruction set.
